Very good news for gluten-intolerant/coeliac Caffe Nero fans – Genius is now supplying filled gluten-free rolls (chicken, salad and pesto to be precise) to almost 600 stores around the UK – just hope that the one near you is one of those 600 and that you like chicken!!
However, fear not – if you do not have the right Caffe Nero near you, maybe you do have a Starbucks who, last month, launched a new Gammon, Mature West Country Cheddar & Coleslaw Gluten Free Roll made with Genius bread.
Meanwhile Costas offer gluten-free brownies, fruit cake and Bakewell tarts – but not yet any savouries.
Bravo to all of them – and we look forward to the day when finding gluten-free rolls, panini, sandwiches or cakes in a coffee shop will no longer justify a mention on the FM blog or anywhere else as it will be so common!! Meanwhile, just a thought….. Could all the above ensure that their offerings are not only gluten free, but dairy free too?… And maybe even egg and nut free?….
